OUR PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE DOG PROGRAM

Operation K9 Beethoven is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to supporting veterans who are living with PTSD and other mental health challenges. Recognizing the profound impact that service dogs can have on mental well-being, the organization provides rescued, trained psychiatric service dogs at no cost to veterans. Each veteran also receives a comprehensive starter kit, which includes essential items such as a kennel, bed, blanket, leash, collar, bowls, a bag of dog food, treats, toys, and a service vest complete with patches. Founded by veterans, parents, and siblings who have personally witnessed the effects of PTSD and related conditions, Operation K9 Beethoven is driven by the mission to improve the lives of veterans through the companionship and support of a service dog.

If you or someone you know could use the help of a free Psychiatric Service Dog, please contact us or apply below, so we can continue to “Help Veterans One Paw At A Time”.

*Please note: You will not be eligible to receive a Psychiatric Service Dog if you own one or more pets (dogs, cats, etc.) of any breed.  We have created this policy to continue helping and protecting our Veterans and rescue dogs.  * *Currently serving New Jersey, and surrounding areas.

PLEASE NOTE: Dog ownership is a long-term commitment. Dogs live for an average of 8-16 years depending on the breed, and every dog needs daily exercise and stimulation. They’re also very sociable animals. Dogs need their owners to spend time with them, and many can’t cope with being home alone for hours every day. Even if you don’t work long hours out of the house, think about whether you have any other commitments that might keep you from giving them the attention they need!Applicants for a Psychiatric Service Dog must be 21 years of age or older.
